Terms of Service

1. Scope and acceptance

These terms apply to everyone using txtBase, operated by txtBase事務局. Read these terms and the conditions for each feature before use. Feature screens explain the declaration and agreement for public Topics and the confirmation of external processing for translation and AI.

2. Service features

txtBase is an anonymous communication service without account registration. Talk rooms share real-time messages and images with people who know the link. Topics are public conversations for adults aged 18 or older, entered through news or hashtags; eligible adults who have not joined may also read them. Anonymous Post receives messages through a public profile handle. Translation, notifications, polls and shared albums have their own availability conditions.

Private rooms support voice calls for up to 8 people and one-to-one video calls. Cloudflare Realtime relays audio; txtBase does not record or transcribe calls. Joining requires an explicit action. Device or network conditions may prevent use.

3. Eligibility by feature

Reading or posting Topic content, images, polls, translations and connections is restricted to people aged 18 or older. Access requires a server record of your self-declaration that you are 18 or older and agreement to the terms and public Topic rules. Visitors who have not agreed see only a safe, operator-edited overview. Agreement lasts 30 days; expiry or a rule revision requires a new declaration and agreement. Self-declaration is not documentary age verification and does not guarantee legally sufficient age assurance in every region.

Private Talk through invitation links has no blanket 18+ restriction. Local rules on capacity to contract, required parental consent and feature-specific conditions still apply. We do not provide a guardian identity-check or verifiable parental-consent procedure; uses that legally require such a procedure are outside the supported scope. Check the conditions for public Post reception, standalone albums, calls and external AI separately. Follow Japanese and applicable local law and do not evade a valid restriction. Language support does not guarantee that every regional requirement is met.

4. Anonymity, devices and shared links

Registration is unnecessary, but we use generated device IDs stored in your browser and server-issued credentials. Clearing browser data can lose links to posts, participation and recovery methods. A room URL itself is an access key: check recipients and do not post it publicly. A passcode or other convenience feature may not prevent access after a link is disclosed. Anonymity is not absolute; information may be processed for lawful orders or limited abuse investigations.

5. Prohibited conduct for all features

Do not violate law or public order; commit or facilitate crime; send sexual or violent content to minors; sexually exploit children; harass, defame or threaten; collect or disclose personal information without authority; infringe intellectual property, image or privacy rights; distribute spam, scams, phishing or malware; use bots or excessive traffic to disrupt the service; advertise or solicit commercially without permission; impersonate others; or upload works without the required rights. Comparable conduct harming others' safety or rights or the service is also prohibited.

6. Additional Topic rules

In Topics, even between consenting adults, do not seek or solicit dating partners; hold conversations, post or recruit for sexual arousal or gratification; post, request, offer or exchange sexual text, images or videos for that purpose; or redirect people to private rooms, Post, external services or contacts for those activities. Coded or indirect solicitation is included. This covers Topic titles, names, profiles, images and poll questions, choices and replies. These additional rules do not extend to all private room or Post conversations, but general prohibitions and feature eligibility still apply.

Sexual health, education, victim support, news and social discussion are not prohibited merely for mentioning sexual matters. Decisions consider context and solicitation or redirection, not isolated words. Disguising prohibited conduct as education or support does not make it acceptable.

7. Review, reports, action and appeals

Public Topic posts may be manually reviewed and analysed for safety, abuse prevention and usability, with rules identifying items for review even before a report. Neither a rule match nor report volume alone triggers automatic sanctions. This review does not extend to private rooms, Post bodies, deleted or non-public posts or private conversations behind links. Only reported private content is reviewed. Predefined words may block Post submissions, and crisis-support information may be offered. We do not continuously send conversation bodies to external AI for monitoring.

Eligible Topic viewers and private-room participants can report content, including poll questions, options and replies. Anyone with an album link can report a photo. Reports do not automatically delete content; a person reviews a copy. Non-users may contact info@txtbase.net about rights violations or non-consensual images. Do not publish private URLs or identity documents; ask for a safe submission method. A report does not authorize access to an entire private conversation. False or harassing reports are prohibited. We do not notify the reported person of the reporter. The Privacy Policy explains retention of records and copies.

For illegality, rights violations or breaches, we may remove, hide or limit distribution of content, delete rooms or restrict device connections, sending or service use. Urgent protection may precede notice; we explain reasons, scope and appeals as far as lawful and consistent with others' rights. If room links are hidden in Topics, we show that fact and distinguish it from deleting the message. Device restrictions do not identify a person perfectly, and any remaining viewing is subject to age eligibility. You may contact us to appeal a mistake. These measures do not waive our legal responsibility.

8. Polls

Polls support discussion. Votes can be changed or withdrawn before closing, and creators can close early. Device changes can allow duplicates, so polls do not guarantee one person, one vote or represent society. Other users are not shown which device chose which answer; questions, choices and totals are visible to viewers, and replies appear as ordinary posts.

9. Content, images and albums

You must have the necessary rights and ensure lawful content. Copyright remains with its owner; you permit display, storage, transmission and necessary operation of the service. Improvement does not authorise unlimited use of private messages. A poster's responsibility for accuracy and legality is separate from the operator's own legal duties.

Room images accept JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP up to 5MB each. Albums convert input photos up to 20MB on your device into shared JPEGs, storing images up to 2MB and thumbnails up to 128KB. Each album allows up to 200 photos and 200MB total. People knowing the shared link can view and add photos; a linked Talk can also be opened from its album. Original-file preservation is not guaranteed: download needed photos before expiry. Topic images require an 18+ self-declaration and agreement to the rules.

10. Anonymous Post and recovery

Anonymous Post records sender IP and user agent for abuse prevention and lawful infringement handling. The Privacy Policy specifies the basis and retention; we do not assume that law prescribes one universal period. Handle owners can block particular sources. Keep backup codes safe, since losing them may make recovery impossible.

11. Expiry, deletion and retention

Rooms become inaccessible after their configured expiry and are deleted with posts by scheduled processing. Albums last until 30 days after creation or the linked Talk's expiry or deletion, whichever is earlier. The Privacy Policy covers unused-room and Topic cleanup, report copies, audit records, translation caches and individual legal holds. Recovery or permanent storage is not guaranteed. Resetting a device ID or leaving a room does not erase all server data.

12. Translation, AI and generation

Optional translation sends original text to Microsoft Azure Translator. The original remains available, the translation is labelled as machine-generated and it is not reposted as the speaker's new message. AI replies and conversation summaries send your instruction and limited recent conversation, including others' statements, to the selected provider; deleted posts, join/leave notices and images themselves are excluded. AI replies are displayed and stored in the room. A single-message summary sends that message, displays the result on the requesting device and stores it in the room for reuse. Generated icon prompts go to Cloudflare Workers AI. The provider and scope are explained before use. A viewer's click alone does not establish a lawful basis for processing every speaker's data.

Translation, summaries, AI answers, stickers and generated icons can be wrong or differ from your intent; accuracy, completeness and usefulness are not guaranteed. Check the original for important decisions. Text translation does not include simultaneous voice translation. Processor retention and training use follow notices verified against actual contracts and settings, not promises inferred from general marketing.

13. Advertising, passes and legacy credits

Some screens display Google advertising. The Privacy Policy explains advertising cookies and external transmissions. Translation has one initial trial, and AI replies, conversation summaries and single-message summaries share another trial. Charged access follows server-displayed time and use limits, currently designed as 3 hours and 10 combined uses. An active pass is not extended or topped up. No charge is available if the advertising wall does not appear. Observing its appearance/disappearance and claiming a pass does not verify completed viewing. Translation allows up to 1,000 characters per action; redisplaying a cached translation is not charged. A new daily translation allowance is not available without a separate announcement.

Passes and legacy credits have no monetary value and cannot be transferred, redeemed or refunded. They are kept per browser and do not carry over after data clearing or a move to another device. Passes expire when either time or uses run out; legacy credit balances do not become passes. Forged ad display/viewing and automated acquisition are prohibited. Material limit changes are notified in advance, with consent where required. Sticker generation has separate conditions and does not use this balance.

14. Suspension and interruptions

We may suspend all or part of the service for maintenance, updates, disasters or power outages, security incidents or suspected unauthorised access, or other reasonable operational difficulties. We give advance notice where possible and necessary information afterwards in emergencies. Responsibility for interruptions follows the next section and applicable law, without unconditional exemption.

15. Warranties and responsibility

The service is provided with its existing features and environment. We do not promise accuracy, completeness, usefulness, absolute safety, fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted service. Risks include user disputes, unavailability, lost, leaked or damaged data, unauthorised access or tampering, failures or changes at Cloudflare, Vercel, Firebase, Azure or other providers, translation errors, unsupported environments and anonymity. Nothing excludes intentional or grossly negligent conduct or other liability that law does not allow us to exclude, or limits mandatory consumer protections, damages or other applicable rights. The cause and applicable law determine the operator's responsibility.

16. Changes to service and terms

For feature changes, termination or material terms changes, we give understandable advance notice of the change, reason and timing. Emergency safety measures may be explained afterwards. Changes requiring consent obtain it separately. Continued use alone is not acceptance of every revision or optional new processing. The effective version and revision history are made available; an Updates entry alone does not replace required notice.

17. Contact and assignment

Notices use in-service messages or an appropriate contact method you provide. Contact info@txtbase.net for questions, rights requests and appeals. You may not assign your contractual position, rights or obligations or provide them as security without prior written permission, subject to rights granted by law.

18. Governing law and jurisdiction

Japanese law governs these terms without excluding mandatory protections applicable in your country or region. Where legally permitted, the court with jurisdiction over the operator’s location is the agreed venue. This does not remove a consumer’s statutory right to bring proceedings in their place of residence or another competent court.
